Optimizing flow releases under future hydropower operation

Globally, the aim of this study is to provide new and advanced methods for the analysis of medium- to long-term tradeoffs between hydropower production and eco-hydrological dynamics, in Alpine catchments, under current and projected future climate. We expect the results to provide a basis for guidelines to hydropower producers and legislators regarding, as much as possible, this overall aim of a best conciliation between aquatic ecosystems protection and hydropower operation sustainability.
